About
After a decade of having a website for my music in cyberspace, I have decided to launch a blog. My hope is that I can foster an online community of friends and fans. Maybe I’m kidding myself. I guess we’ll know soon enough, won’t we!
What will the blog be about? I want it to evolve and grow. I envision it as a space that will certainly be about my journey: As a touring musician, recording artist, and songwriter; as a girl who lost 100 pounds and is trying to stay that way; as the wife of the sweetest music geek vinyl record collector on earth; as a friend who loves to chat over a nice cup of tea; as a runner who loves to go the distance; as an in-process mess who gets excited about seeing her therapist weekly.
I’m a girl who loves books, movies and art, Patty Griffin, pale colors on my walls that make me feel like I live at the beach even though I’m landlocked in Oklahoma. I gravitate towards emotions more than academics, enjoy watching Wheel of Fortune, and yes, I am sucker for Chicago 17. How else do you learn to write the hits? I am intrigued by words, how to spell them and how people choose to piece them together. I once had a friend who called me Webster because of this. I like to make up words to songs I don’t know and sing them out of key. This sometimes perplexes people. I listen to Delilah without shame. I hate feet, except babies feet. So I guess I hate feet that have walked. I was a debutante and I enjoyed it. Yes, you read that correctly.
So if any of that interests you, I hope you’ll subscribe to the blog. I welcome your comments, as my vision for this adventure is really to start and facilitate a conversation. And, as much as I love talking to myself (I may not be much, but I’m all I think about) it does take two to tango. So speak up, chime in. I’ll talk back.
One last thing… If you’re inclined and you like something you read or hear on my blog, please use the “Share This” icon in the corner of each post to liberally spread the news to your friends on social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. All word of mouth help is tremendously appreciated!
